Well, it’s been another successful adult tournament event done and dusted here at Superior Tennis Academy.

Our inaugural adult inclub championship, with blustery and overcast conditions there was phenomenal tennis across the courts.

Everyone who competed should be all proud, as I am proud of you all for throwing caution to the wind and having a go.

With prize money on offer, plus the chance to have your name on the inaugural Peter Derig Shield for the guys and the Daphne Johns Shield for the ladies, it was hotly contested.

These shields are named after 2 people that have had a profound meaning in our head coach Nathans tennis career, and he has aptly name the men’s and women’s after the above mentioned people.

They would have been proud watching the high level of competition played.

As with any event there can only be 1 winner and 1 runners up. In the men’s final saw Ash Downs taking on Anthony Bottrill with Anthony sealing the deal 6/1, in a match where the score didn’t reflect the level of tennis.

In the women’s draw, we had the final between Emma Wallace and Kristi Dawson. Emma grinded out a win 9/5, in a match that could have gone either way.

Congratulations to all who competed,  and we hope to see you all there next year.
